Codex desktop app adds in-thread prompt editing with conversation resume
reach_vb · x · 2026-10-19
Codex's desktop app shipped a long-requested quality-of-life feature: you can now go back through a conversation, edit a previous prompt, and resume from that point. It works by discarding all messages and tool calls after the edited prompt so the model isn't confused by contradictory context. The team admits it took far too long to get out.
