Solo dev ships Stillworlds, an 11-world Mac ambient app built with Claude Code, for £5.99

A London solo developer launched Stillworlds, a Mac app with 11 animated ambient scenes (rainy lakeside cabin, storm record shop, moon colony, 3D voxel villa) that shift day/night with your system clock. Three worlds free; all 11 cost £5.99 one-time, offline, no tracking.
The author owned concepts, references, composition, color and lighting; Claude Code acted as a dev partner handling UI, day/night transitions, procedural voxel scene building via Blender + Python scripts, the tricky macOS screen saver integration, plus licensing, offline activation and updates.
Key lesson: getting Claude to work differs from getting it to feel finished — describing specifically what's wrong beats saying "make it better," with lots of testing and occasional breakage.
