Anthropic announced the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, a new wholly owned entity dedicated entirely to public benefit.
Key details:
- Starts with 5% of Anthropic's shares
- For every 50% increase in company value over a set baseline, up to an extra 2% can be contributed, at board discretion
- In total, roughly 20% of Anthropic's shares are earmarked for the fund
Some replies, like Adrian Scott's, cast a skeptical eye on how "the public good" will actually be served.
