AI phone agent calls ski shop, nails six pointed questions on demo policies
SeanOliver · x · 2026-10-19
Sean Oliver sent his AI phone agent (Muse) to call Sports Basement to scout ski demos. The agent navigated the phone tree and asked six pointed questions — which skis are demoable, how far ahead reservations can be made, whether two demo credits stack toward one purchase, binding coverage, and damage waivers — even noting "unknown" when the clerk couldn't answer. He also shares an unscientific theory: choosing a male voice (Brett) over a female one (Hailey), since people expect AI to sound female and a male voice reads as "just another caller."
