Former games founder prototypes open-source game where players vibe code their own characters

A former games founder (trq212) shares his AI-assisted side-project game journey. His core stance: game-making is deeply satisfying and creative—don't outsource it to AI, use it as a collaborator.
Design iterations:
- Started as a Brawl Stars-style competitive real-time mobile game, but competitive games demand careful balancing and a large active player base, so he dropped it;
- Explored a Slay the Spire-like single-player boss-battle format; loved the look but it shifted focus to art/character design over mechanics;
- His favorite hook: making the game and characters is as fun as playing it—so he'd ship it open source, letting players vibe code their own characters with automatic balancing;
- Combat mechanics still undecided (auto-battling like Salty Bet vs. cinematic player options like Persona).
