Long chats forget after summarizing, so this dev built a memory MCP server
Jolly-Scientist-2484 · reddit · 2026-10-18
After weeks-long chats, compaction made ChatGPT/Claude forget key facts — recommending ruled-out setups, claiming shipped fixes were pending. The author built SkyOS, a memory MCP server with rules: one note per fact/decision, merges that drop numbers or names get rejected, every note is dated (stale figures come back as 'as of Aug 18'), and the AI reads notes before answering. Works across Claude, ChatGPT and Codex.
