Laid-off geophysicist built a Claude Code job-search system, landed AI engineer role; repo passes 50k stars
techNmak · x · 2026-10-18
After being laid off, geophysicist Mads Lorentzen built an AI job-search system with Claude Code — 69 tailored applications, 20 first-round interviews, and a signed AI engineer contract.
He has open-sourced the workflow (AI Job Search), now past 50,000 GitHub stars. It does far more than resume rewriting:
- /setup builds a structured profile from your CV, work history, skills, and preferences
- /scrape scrapes job boards, dedupes, and ranks openings by fit
- /apply generates a tailored CV and cover letter per job description
- /interview preps you using the actual posting and your submitted documents
