ChatGPT guardrails flag fully-clothed family photos, frustrating photo restoration user
johnellenbe · reddit · 2026-10-18
A Reddit user restoring hundreds of old family prints says ChatGPT's safety guardrails keep falsely firing on fully-clothed photos of his daughter — most recently refusing to retouch a picture of her riding a bicycle in the driveway, claiming it is pornography.
Rewriting the prompt twice didn't help, and he says he is close to canceling his subscription, adding that ChatGPT seems more trigger-happy than Gemini in his experience. The post highlights how over-tight image guardrails break legitimate family use cases.
