Mind Children's Codey: a child-sized companion humanoid for elders, pilots in 2027
CyberRobooo · x · 2026-10-18
US startup Mind Children showed Codey, a child-sized humanoid designed to keep older adults and people living alone company. Demos include chatting (pharmacy web searches, medication reminders), telling jokes, playing Pictionary, eye-tracking people, and facial expressions. Still a prototype, with care and education pilots planned for 2027. The author likes the "companion, not replacement" positioning but flags the uncanny-valley face design as the main thing to rethink.
