Mac parallel agents wrecking fseventsd? Give them a dedicated volume
steipete · x · 2026-10-18
fforres shares a practical fix for running multiple parallel agents on macOS: instead of killing fseventsd on a schedule, have your agent create a dedicated volume, disable fseventsd and Spotlight on it, move your projects folder there, and remount — bonus points for relocating the pnpm cache. Start the conversation outside the projects folder and expect to kill a lot of processes. steipete amplified it; screenshots show memory pressure and CPU load back to normal afterward.
