AI predicted 200 million protein structures and gave them away, skipping drug discovery's slowest step

Figuring out a single protein's shape once took a lab months or years. AI (AlphaFold) has now mapped roughly 200 million structures — essentially every protein known to science — and released them all for free.
The author argues this effectively removed the slowest bottleneck in drug discovery: structure prediction is no longer the limiting step.
