Obsidian Starter Kit v5.1 ships on-demand AI skills and auto-archiving for your vault
dSebastien · x · 2026-10-18
Indie developer dSebastien released Obsidian Starter Kit v5.1, a free lifetime update packaging his own production vault — refined over 20 years of knowledge management — into a ready-to-use system with structure, templates, Bases, plugins and an AI assistant.
Key v5 changes:
- Self-filing work: statuses stamp dates, done items auto-archive after 7 days (configurable per note type)
- One-click daily routine: buttons and captures on the daily note plus an action side panel
- Activities & Ideas: homes for ongoing work and uncommitted ideas, with Kanban boards
- Ideal week planning: recurring time blocks next to weekly targets
- On-demand AI assistant: looks up the needed skill instead of loading all skills upfront
