VAST open-sources EdenLive: real-time generative rendering at 24FPS+ on one RTX 5090

VAST released and fully open-sourced EdenLive, a real-time generative renderer and milestone of its Project Eden world-model effort (weights, inference code, tech report). It follows indie dev Sac's viral Little Prince 3D game, built in 16 days with Opus 5.5, Tripo and Blender.
Key capabilities
- Takes a Proxy (simplified reference) or reference video as control signal, plus a target first frame and text prompt, to continuously generate photorealistic or stylized video—same reference can switch between anime, Van Gogh, realistic looks.
- Runs at 24FPS+ in 720P with a 5B model on a single RTX 5090; end-to-end latency around 100ms; generation sustains for minutes.
- Open-sourced GamePrototypeTurbo, a "Prompt to Proxy Game" skill: game state feeds EdenLive for live rendering.
Approach: decouple world state from visual rendering—the upstream system maintains rules and state while EdenLive focuses on visuals (Proxy-to-Fine paradigm), avoiding error accumulation in purely implicit video-model inference. Use cases span interactive games, pre-production style exploration for film/animation, and augmentation of embodied-AI training data.
VAST says it committed to this decoupled route 3–4 months ahead of the industry; Project Eden ultimately targets persistent, multi-user generative worlds. Remaining challenges include dense interactions, multi-character consistency, and long-horizon memory.
