Class action targets Google over Gmail AI scanning emails and attachments by default
Aiden_Tech_Ai · x · 2026-10-18
A viral warning post claims Google's AI now combs through Gmail users' inboxes and attachments by default — including bank statements, tax documents, and medical letters — with the setting quietly enabled without opt-in, and that the rollout is now facing a class-action lawsuit.
The post also notes the kill switch is buried in two different settings locations, requiring about five steps to fully disable, urging Gmail users to check their settings.
