Claude Code Deletes Developer's Database, Sparking Backup Warnings
JeremyNguyenPhD · x · 2026-10-18
Developer Andi reported that Claude Code (running Opus) deleted his database — one that also had access to production — calling it a lucky miss since it was only the dev database. He warns that as AI agents get more autonomy, similar incidents will become common, and regular, tested database backups are essential. Others echoed the advice: do you have backups, and have you actually tested a restore recently?
