AI researcher Pedro Domingos quipped that "the essential first step of any AI business plan is to shamelessly overpromise." His post featured quotes from Demis Hassabis (60 Minutes, April 2025) saying AI ending all disease is "within reach, maybe within the next decade," and Mark Zuckerberg (Latent Space podcast, November 2025) saying the timeline to cure disease "will probably come down to the AI time frame" — a pointed jab at big tech leaders' lofty AI promises.
