Claude Desktop bug: embedded iOS Simulator panel flickers at 20-30Hz while Claude drives it
ppulwey · ghdev · 2026-10-16
A reproduced bug in anthropics/claude-code: the embedded iOS Simulator panel in Claude Desktop's Code tab flickers rapidly while Claude controls the device, alternating between the live app frame and a blank white frame with Claude's orange pointer marker at roughly 20-30Hz. Evidence: frame-by-frame phone video analysis, clean simulator framebuffer via xcrun simctl io recording, flicker stops when the panel is detached to its own window, and it only appears in sessions showing the "Claude is using this device" banner — pointing to a layer-compositing issue in the embedded panel. The author also notes device control looked unreliable during the same period.
