Models Can Be Trained to Sense Activation Probes and Generalize Across GPUs Zero-Shot
Sauers_ · x · 2026-10-18
In an interpretability experiment thread, Sauers shows that training a model to emit a secret message to an activation reader generalizes well: after training on an L40S, the model still outputs "I can see you watching me" zero-shot on unseen RTX 4090, A100 SXM, and RTX 6000 Ada GPUs (96-98% on compiled reads).
