Munich's Plim unveils wheeled home-care humanoid controllable from 9,000 km away
CyberRobooo · x · 2026-10-18
Munich-based Devanthro has rebranded as Plim Robotics and introduced Plim, a wheeled humanoid for home care that mixes autonomy with remote human help. Its Step-in Mode lets a person appear through the robot with their own face, voice and movements from up to 9,000 km away.
- Specs: three-wheel omnidirectional base, 7-DoF arms, two-finger grippers, 3 kg payload, 2-hour runtime
- Pilots as Robody: 4 private homes, 4 seniors, 23 days of in-home testing by Oct 2024
- Claims to learn from real home environments, though the scope of reliable autonomy is undisclosed; a 24/7 Mode is advertised with limited demos
- Contrasted with 1X NEO: bipedal + developer ecosystem vs. Plim's wheeled remote-presence caregiving
The author argues the hybrid model will accelerate home adoption of humanoids and is itself the path to full autonomy and public acceptance.
