Redditor proposes open source video editing dataset to fix brittle LoRA training
Emergency-Shake4529 · reddit · 2026-10-18
A Reddit user proposes a community-built open source video editing dataset, diagnosing why many civitai LoRAs are poorly trained:
- Scale invariance: LoRAs break when the key action occupies a different portion of the frame than in training data (e.g. in the background); data augmentation is essential
- Denoising mismatch: LoRAs often produce artifacts when used at different denoising settings (e.g. upscale passes); checkpoints and LoRAs should be trained across varied tasks, textures, and lighting
- Vision: periodically retrain task-specific LoRAs on common tasks and benchmark them so they don't lose base-model capabilities — and eventually train a new model from scratch
The author argues video editing is uniquely task-diverse and well suited to continuous community dataset building.
