China building ~69 power semiconductor fabs across 58 suppliers
zephyr_z9 · x · 2026-10-18
A TrendForce roadshow chart shows roughly 69 power semiconductor fabs in China — across 58 suppliers — that are planned, under construction, or ramping: 15 planned, 29 under construction, 25 ramping. The list covers companies like Silan, CR Micro, Hua Hong and BYD Semiconductor, spanning SiC, GaN, IGBTs, MOSFETs, PMICs and BCD processes. Commentary notes China has localized close to or over half of most equipment categories except lithography and track, making mature-node expansion via domestic equipment far easier; AI-driven demand plus Samsung/TSMC exiting mature nodes is fueling the buildout.
