AutoTrust's Trending HF Models Powered by Thousands of Farmed Likes
mrfakename0 · reddit · 2026-10-18
Reddit user mrfakename0 alleges AutoTrust's trending Hugging Face models were boosted by bot likes. Liker accounts share telltale traits: generator-style fake names, matching username permutations, nonexistent social profiles, AI-generated bios, a few scattered likes then the target model, sometimes a dummy tiny model for cover. Comparisons against Google/Meta/HF official models look damning, and u/prithivMLmods' analysis of AutoTrust Spaces likes—including account join-date distributions—points to mass-registered farm accounts. Farming thousands of accounts past hCaptcha and AWS WAF wouldn't be cheap. The author stops short of proving AutoTrust itself is responsible.
