Solo dev builds game cinematic with Claude: refs, planning and endless iteration
GearsAndPixels · reddit · 2026-10-18
Indie developer GearsAndPixels shared the opening cinematic of his solo-built game — a sim about running the last repair shop in orbit around a dead Earth, fixing broken androids. He built it with Claude's help on code and some 3D models, but stresses it's nothing like "type a prompt, get a game": models require proper reference images, detailed plan reviews, and heavy back-and-forth, with most first attempts discarded and redone. His takeaway: AI is a tool; direction, taste, and decisions remain his. He's answering workflow questions in the thread.
