User wrongly banned by OpenAI wins account back in 24 hours via legal email and a Gemini-written letter

An Australian user had their ChatGPT Plus account auto-banned for "cyber abuse" after using ChatGPT to draft debate talking points. Appeals were auto-rejected, and a second account was banned for ban evasion. Finding that OpenAI's only human-monitored channel is its legal contact email, the user had Gemini draft a formal letter invoking Australian Consumer Law to demand a good-faith human review. Days later OpenAI sent an internal review link; less than 24 hours after a lengthy appeal, the account was restored with an official email admitting "we incorrectly deactivated your account access." The case shows OpenAI's automated banning system does misfire, and the legal email is the only viable route to a human.
