Pax Futura: open-source LLM 'Loom' lets you rewrite medieval history branch by branch
repligate · x · 2026-10-18
Pax Futura, an open-source "Loom for simulating human history (and futures)", has launched. Screenshots show a polished LLM-driven alternate-history sandbox: a medieval Europe map where you run a secret scientific Order making Pope Innocent III's Papacy dependent on your mathematics and financial accounting, turn-based advisor correspondence, and a Git-like timeline with branches, rollbacks and re-rolls for exploring "what would have happened if...". It also ships a 2045 sci-fi scenario involving fusion power and AI-driven labor shocks. Notable as a step beyond chat-NPC games toward a structured, branch-managed historical simulation.
