DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash agent: strong start, then OCD-style rabbit holes
teortaxesTex · x · 2026-10-18
teortaxesTex shares hands-on observations running a coding agent on DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash (High) to build a voxel pagoda 3D scene: planning is competent and the core gets done in under 10 minutes, but the agent then wastes time in obsessive fine-tuning loops over lighting, contrast and sky — sometimes repeatedly within one run. He suggests adding an "anti-rabbithole governor" to AGENTS.md. Screenshots show 237 tok/s and a 99% cache hit rate.
