Cartesian AI 3D modeling tool turns sketches into editable precise CAD solids in 5 steps
carlosbannon · x · 2026-10-18
- A user demoed Cartesian by Formas, an AI 3D modeling tool for architecture and product design, going from sketch to 3D in 5 steps (screenshot shows a 582-part car cockpit model).
- Inputs can be text, sketches, photos, plans, or scans; output is precise solid geometry (breps) — inspectable, measurable faces/edges/solids, not polygon-mesh approximations.
- Every object is independently editable (change a chair, keep the room), with "keep" constraints for elements you want preserved exactly.
- Named elements and explicit relationships give it a structured path into BIM workflows; models export to SketchUp, Rhino, or any CAD (3DM/STL).
- Currently a preview waitlist.
