Dan Wahlin demos Microsoft's Work IQ MCP inside the GitHub Copilot app: batch-adding GitHub issues linked to M365 files that would take hours by hand took under 30 minutes, including building a reusable skill to sync files to project issues.
Work IQ MCP exposes M365 intelligence to agents via a single MCP endpoint. Design principles: fewer tools/more paths (workloads add paths, not tools), runtime schema introspection instead of loading type definitions, and four broad OAuth permissions with per-path policy enforcement. Tool categories cover entity CRUD, invoking M365 Copilot for reasoning, retrieving grounding content, and API schema discovery.
