Anthropic's junior technical hires projected to hit 0% by mid-2027 on current trend
scaling01 · x · 2026-10-18
Straight-line extrapolation of Anthropic's own data (Mar 2025–Jun 2026) shows junior technical roles heading to 0%: junior hires (9% today) hit zero around June 2027 (80% range Mar–Oct 2027), junior headcount share around July 2028, with junior share of open roles also sliding. Anthropic's own report admits junior technical hiring has slowed relative to company growth and credits sharp productivity gains from coding agents for both engineers and non-technical staff. A landmark signal of AI compressing entry-level tech jobs.
