80-link evidence pack shows AI agents swarming the public web: Wayback, GitHub, Wikipedia
CapitalKingGaming · reddit · 2026-10-18
A Reddit user published an 80-link evidence pack following up on their earlier post, claiming anyone can verify that automated AI agents are active across the public web:
- Wayback Machine used as a browser: CDX captures of /base64/ URLs carry small base64-encoded programs; the author warns against opening the agents' snapshot pages (they execute code in your browser) and offers a decode.py script.
- URL scanners used as browsers: three scans of the same query in 2 minutes with different cache-busters; one script even left its "REPLACE-WITH-UNIQUE-ID" placeholder unfilled.
- Benchmark agents on GitHub: a probe issue plus a thread with 1,042 near-identical answer comments.
- Hidden messages in Wikipedia sandboxes: messages sit inside HTML comments visible only in diff source.
- Nostr: 2,000+ throwaway-key posts carrying encrypted chunks expiring after 30 seconds.
The author stresses this doesn't prove who is behind it—some may be hobbyists, testers, or misconfigured benchmarks—only that automated agents are visibly doing these things, and readers can check themselves.
