HITL for AI agents is broken: critics say design serves IPO narrative, not engineering
gerardsans · x · 2026-10-18
A thread by Rachel argues that while human-in-the-loop oversight is widely recommended for AI agent safety, current agent design forces humans to keep up with unreasonable volume and complexity, promoting fatigue and disengaging the very skills oversight relies on.
Gerard Sans replies more bluntly: today's agents are built to support an IPO narrative, not engineering — calling the model "intellectually corrupt" and noting it simply doesn't work.
