Musk: Roadster demos will fly over Snake River Canyon, exceed half the speed of sound

Elon Musk shared new plans for next-gen Tesla Roadster demos: flying over the Snake River Canyon (site of Evel Knievel's failed 1974 rocket jump) or possibly the Grand Canyon, landing on its wheels, and exceeding half the speed of sound. At the unveiling the car already flew on cold-gas thrusters, did a mid-air barrel roll, and kickflipped over a Tesla Semi. Musk said the Roadster will perform these stunts autonomously, and Tesla is building a Hot Wheels-style looping test track at its Texas HQ for owners.
