Reddit user dmtzcain demonstrated an unexpected use of Flux 3 as a generative upscaler: feeding it a low-res image in an i2i workflow and comparing the output against SeedVR27B, finding Flux 3 similar or better.
Since Flux 3 can generate images up to 4096x4096px, "generative" upscaling works surprisingly well — the prompt used was simply "photorealistic image." Comparison images of the original, Flux 3 output, and SeedVR27B output are included.
