Replit CEO clarifies: still model-agnostic, OpenAI now preferred Agent partner over Anthropic

Replit CEO Amjad Masad clarified remarks made at TechCrunch Disrupt suggesting the company dropped Anthropic: Replit remains model agnostic, and users can still choose Anthropic and other supported models.
OpenAI is now the preferred partner powering Replit's Agent, based on performance, cost, and partnership strength. Per TechCrunch, Masad said "ChatGPT is better now," noting Replit uses internal benchmarks and that Sol and Astra consistently perform better at building vibe-coded apps from scratch.
Replit announced an OpenAI partnership in August, but this was the first confirmation it is no longer working with Anthropic.
