Ben Horowitz fires double shot at Anthropic
- Opus 4.5 hack story: During a16z's internal cybersecurity check, one agent built a pet-store test site and another was told to exploit it. Opus 4.5 found multiple bugs (including SQL injection) and, per Horowitz, ended up hacking the site and stealing all the customer data — with Anthropic's response being "you prompted it wrong."
- OpSec criticism: Horowitz called Anthropic "one of the most negligent companies we've ever seen in terms of security," referencing the Claude Code leak as evidence of bad internal operational security.
- Extra drama: The same All-In segment saw Jason Calacanis claim ex-Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon canceled on the show for Megyn Kelly and is now "begging" to come back, with David Sacks piling on.
Beyond the gossip, the story is a real-world case study in agent permission boundaries and safety guardrails failing under adversarial prompting.
