OpenMachine open-sources an MCP runtime letting ChatGPT drive local and remote machines
JESS_ai_game · reddit · 2026-10-17
Two developers open-sourced Open Machine, an MCP-compatible runtime (MIT, Python 3.12+, npm v0.2.22) that connects ChatGPT and other AI agents to your local computer and remote Linux servers — running/editing code, managing servers, and handling browser tasks with Codex-like or greater flexibility. Built out of frustration with context limits and multi-server juggling during model training; Desktop and Cloud versions with file/database indexing and local knowledge bases are planned.
