The author argues that over the next 3–5 years, AI engineers will become extremely valuable — not people who merely understand AI, but those who are genuinely good at deploying it to solve real business problems. Give them Claude Code, Codex, Grok, Gemini, APIs and data, and they can figure out how to automate a process, build a system, or improve a workflow. That practical skill will be next-level valuable.
