DeepSeek has released V4.1-Flash-1017 as an open-weight model that beats larger rivals on agentic task benchmarks while again slashing per-task costs versus its predecessor: better scores, faster task completion, and shorter outputs.
The company is also exposing its internal search engine via new Search and Fetch APIs priced at $0.75 per 1,000 calls. API users in tools like Claude Code and Codex currently get free access to the model.
