Broadcom Wi-Fi bug enables passwordless remote code execution; ~1.5M Belgian routers unpatched
jedisct1 · x · 2026-10-17
Security researcher Quentin Kaiser demonstrated a Broadcom Wi-Fi chip bug dating back to 2010 that lets anyone in wireless range run arbitrary code on routers without the password.
He reproduced it on Proximus, Orange Belgium and VOO routers, estimating 1.5M exposed devices in Belgium, none patched. Notably, Broadcom has declined to assign a CVE for the vulnerability.
