World of Warcraft partners with AheadForm to bring its elf character to life as a robot

World of Warcraft teamed up with Chinese robotics startup AheadForm to bring the Skyborne Elf character into the real world — pale blue hair, pointed ears, lifelike skin, gaze tracking, and subtle facial expressions.
AheadForm, founded by Yuhang Hu, trains robots to learn facial movements via self-supervised learning. Its F1 humanoid previously went viral for near-human lip-syncing and realism, and the company raised tens of millions of RMB in funding.
