A GPU price chart comparing October 2026 vs October 2025 shows graphics cards unusually getting more expensive as the generation ages: per 3DCenter's tracking of German retailers, average RTX 50 series prices are up 66% year on year, with the RTX 5090 the biggest mover at +132%. The cause isn't a GPU chip shortage but a memory shortage — VRAM now reportedly accounts for 80%+ of the bill of materials on some high-end cards.
