Containers aren't enough: case for per-agent microVM isolation
sull · x · 2026-10-17
JakeKing argues that if we don't trust agents, we shouldn't trust the environments they build in: containers and shared kernels aren't enough, and every piece of software will need real isolation. His team built minimal, a tool that gives each agent its own microVM on your machine with fine-grained control over what it can touch — isolation should be the default. sull endorses the take.
A substantive discussion on agent sandboxing: as agents autonomously write and run code, runtime isolation is shifting from containers toward microVMs.
