PyTorch announced that ExecuTorch is now an official Zephyr RTOS external module, so developers can deploy PyTorch models onto tiny devices with just a manifest change in their firmware build.
- Integration mirrors Zephyr's existing module system: add to west.yml, run west update, configure via Kconfig/CMake like any first-party subsystem
- Verified on real hardware: quantized MobileNetV2 on an Alif Ensemble E8 DevKit, with the conv graph on the Arm Ethos-U55 NPU and input quantization/output dequantization on the Cortex-M55 CPU
- The walkthrough covers the full workflow from workspace setup to measuring where time goes on-device
