HeyPCB launches MCP server letting AI agents design PCBs and export KiCad projects
R4nsack · x · 2026-10-17
HeyPCB released an MCP server that extends AI coding agents into hardware design. Users describe a board in natural language (e.g. "design a USB-C LED nightlight") and the agent handles circuit design, PCB routing, design-rule checks, exports a real KiCad project, and generates enclosures.
Setup is one command, with official config snippets for 20+ MCP clients including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT, VS Code, Gemini CLI, and Windsurf. A free account can be created directly from the config page. The poster says they're unaffiliated and recommends it as a genuine solution to a problem most developers don't realize exists.
