At its Research@ event, Google announced updates to its experimental Geospatial Reasoning agent and Earth AI capabilities, expanding early access to more partners.
- A new technical report shows that combining domain-specific foundation models, spatial tools, and upfront planning enables the agent to perform complex spatial analysis and planetary prediction that standalone LLMs cannot.
- An accompanying diagram traces the capability ladder: LLM answering from memory → LLM + basic tools (search, maps, code execution) → LLM + Earth AI tools working with Earth data → a Geospatial Reasoning agent that plans and orchestrates.
- Blog post, technical report, and early-access form are all linked.
