Claude Code refuses account creation in E2E tests, allows only localhost and *.test
synwankza · reddit · 2026-10-17
A developer running Playwright E2E tests found that Claude Code refuses to perform an account-creation step, citing a built-in rule. The rule is meant to stop spam account registration, but it also blocks legitimate test flows.
The restriction isn't absolute: localhost, 127.0.0.1, and .test domains are exempted, so pointing the test environment at a .test domain is a workable workaround.
