Biographer Walter Isaacson argued on TBPN that Steve Jobs would be appalled by current agentic AI, citing Jobs' philosophy of "connecting human creativity to the processing power of our machines." He worries agents that act autonomously and out of the user's control sever that link, and criticizes builders for never stepping back to ask "why are we making this?" — the answer, he says, should be to help humanity.
