Show HN: Stoke Money — personal finance app built around cash flow forecasting with Claude via MCP
_wesley · hn · 2026-10-17
A developer shipped Stoke Money, a personal finance app whose core is a cash flow projection engine instead of budgets.
- Existing apps model cash flow as monthly net sum, missing the one-month lag of credit card charges, forcing spreadsheets
- Each income/spending category is projected from history (not flat monthly numbers), lands in the account you actually use; credit card payments are modeled automatically from projected balances
- You can see in advance when any account might run low — "if all accounts look good for 12 months, maybe you don't have a budgeting problem"
The biggest differentiator is MCP integration connected to Claude (works with any agent): importing historical transactions from uploaded PDF statements, auto-categorization, and more.
