43-org map: 27 evaluator orgs tied to 4+ of 6 SI accord signatories, Anthropic most entangled
kevinnbass · x · 2026-10-17
Kevin Bass completed a systematic "who audits the auditors" mapping: cross-referencing the six White House Accord on Super Intelligence signatories (Google, Anthropic, Meta, OpenAI, xAI, Nvidia) against 43 potential evaluator organizations (37 evaluator candidates, 3 government bodies, 3 adjacent organizations).
Key conclusions:
- 27 organizations have documented ties (engagements, money, people or investments) to at least 4 of the 6 companies; 8 are tied to all 6
- Only 4 have no documented tie to any of them
- Anthropic is the most entangled and xAI the least, matching their ecosystem maturity; Nvidia and Meta are also on the less-entangled side, consistent with their open-source posture
Policy proposal: require each company to name its auditor and board committee, publish the auditor's ties, and disclose who pays — otherwise "independent" means nothing.
