Government AI testers share personnel ties with Anthropic trust and OpenAI board
kevinnbass · x · 2026-10-17
The final piece of kevinnbass's thread: government testers are part of the same network. Jason Matheny joined the National Security Commission on AI in 2018, was White House science office deputy director for national security in 2022, and served as an Anthropic trustee in 2023 while running RAND. Paul Christiano moved from Anthropic's trust to the US AI Safety Institute and in 2026 to OpenAI's Foundation board. CAISI, the US government's own testing center, has documented ties to all six Accord signatories. Anthropic's Long-Term Benefit Trust, whose appointed directors became a board majority since April 2026, initially included Matheny and ARC founder Christiano.
